Introduction To Flourish piano Coaching
Flourish Piano Studio is located in Airdrie Alberta, and serves the surrounding areas as well. I offer both mobile lessons in your home and studio lessons in my home. As a studio, we enjoy two recitals each year, and one practice party every spring. The practice party is a practicing incentive that runs throughout the year and encourages both consistent practice and a fun opportunity to build community between the students.
Music doesn’t happen in our fingers… It starts in our heart, and partners with skill, understanding, and love to become an expression. I have taught piano for over 20 years, and my heart’s desire with every student is to empower their hearts, minds and hands to play their music with joy. Every person is different, and I love getting to know my students in this one on one learning environment. My goal is for every student to learn to read and feel music competently so they can continue playing whatever songs they desire long after their season of piano lessons is over. I am always learning with my students and navigating the fine balance of calling out their potential while maintaining a very positive and encouraging learning experience. I hold a Bachelor of Sacred Music degree (2002) and have completed the Grade 10 Royal Conservatory level. I teach all levels, from beginners to adults. For very young ones (ages 3 to 4) I love the Wunderkeys approach, which is very engaging and fun, introducing little fingers to the basics of music. I use the Royal Conservatory books with most of my students, and while I do prepare students for exams, this is completely optional. I enjoy using other method books as well and aim to use whatever approach is best for each student. Apart from teaching, I also enjoy regularly accompanying for ballet classes and exams.

I have always had a tender heart towards those deeply hurting, the outsiders and misunderstood. I also have a strong territorial heart, feeling adamant that people’s boundaries be respected and seeing the injustice of those being taken advantage of in any way. I know these qualities are an echo of my Father’s heart. My walk is to let His heart take over more and more territory in my own, and to pour out to others from His love and desire for them.
In 2017 I went through my first deliverance experience which changed my life in ways I could not have imagined, healing issues I had pursued many “self help” avenues to fix. God opened my eyes to the realities and power of the spirit realm. I carry a deep yearning for creation to be brought back to its original design and know that this is truly where deep healing takes place. I feel the Father’s heart for His children and all He has created to be brought back to the fullness of who He intended us to be unblocked by the lies and manipulations of the enemy.
Engaging through intimacy with Him and receiving His perspective is my favorite part of every coaching session. I also love the Shepherd who defends His sheep with His rod and staff and clears abusive traders out from His temple! As His daughter I am so honored to walk alongside broken hearts with tenderness and compassion and assist as He restores and empowers them according to His perfect grace-filled plans and purposes that extend beyond what we could ask or imagine.
